The Story Behind the Structure
Ever feel like research is 90% “Where did I save that file?” and 10% actual science?
Same.
I’m Dora — lab nerd, systems enthusiast, and the slightly obsessive Virgo behind The LucidLab Logbook and The LucidLab Toolkit. After years in the lab—testing food, drafting compliance reports, revalidating methods, and now working as an engineer in water monitoring—I realized that the real secret ingredient in science (besides caffeine) is structure.
The kind that saves your sanity.
The LucidLab Toolkit was born from that mix of frustration and fascination. Frustration from messy research workflows and drowning in documents. Fascination with the possibility of doing things differently—and better. It started as a side hustle idea and quickly turned into something more: a way to help fellow researchers bring calm to the chaos, with digital tools and bite-sized blog content designed for clarity, focus, and mental breathing room.
So, who’s this for?
Whether you’re writing your first thesis, buried in grant applications, or simply want your data logs to look less like a disaster zone, you’re in the right place. This blog is your cozy corner of the internet where science meets systems—and productivity meets personality.
I believe academic life doesn’t have to be all stress and scrambled notes. With the right tools, systems, and a little humor, it can be kind of satisfying—even fun.
(Yes, really.)
